Fall Fest

A couple of weeks ago I talked about the pumpkin paintings for fall that I had worked on. Here is a trio that I truly enjoyed working on. October is literally just around the corner, bringing with it Holidays, delicious food and spiced smells, friends, family, and quiet cozy moments with just you, a blanket, and your pick: coffee or tea.

1,2,3...Blast Off!

My son is reaching the age where he is no longer a baby and is turning into a little boy. Where has the time gone? In honor of his growing up I decided it was time to create a new painting for him that was a little more mature than the polka dot whale I painted for him before he was born. For a while now I've had this picture in my head and it felt so good to finally put it down in paint. I'm thinking about creating another picture with the solar system... I've had the verse "The Heaven's declare the glory of God" on my mind.

Out on a Limb

Deciding to continue painting birds has been great for me. I really enjoy recalling images of birds in my mind and then putting those images down on canvas. Using smaller canvases, this bird is on and 8" x 8" canvas, has also been wonderful. I used to primarily work on larger sizes but the small scale feels intimate yet freeing.

New Bird

Several months ago I painted a day painting of a bird during one of my son's naps. Since then I've painted only one other bird... that was until Tuesday. Tuesday had me feeling inspired to paint another bird and perhaps begin a little bird adventure. I don't know what has kept me from painting birds more often, but I'm glad to finally focus on them as subjects. I've always enjoyed (extremely) amateur bird watching, and now I have a little more purpose to my watching.

Out of Sniffles

Finally my time of sniffles and sinus have past!  Hip, hip, hurray!  There has been lots of work going on around here getting ready for fall.  I've got some fall paintings to show you that I had a lot of fun working on.  In the mean time I felt like I have been neglecting paintings for boys and I couldn't resist a dinosaur.
