Strawberries - Yummy to the Tummy

This painting is available for purchase at my etsy shop

Lately, I have been craving strawberries and homemade whipped cream. Mouth watering goodness! This was the first year in a while that I haven't had homegrown strawberries! Since we moved I haven't had time to get a vegetable garden growing.... perhaps next year we will have our own, fresh picked strawberries again.

Be on the lookout for more strawberry and fruit paintings. I love working with the Biblical concept that you can know a person by the fruit of their lives.

Red Fish, Yellow Fish

The past couple of weeks have had us visiting an arboretum where my son has fallen in love with koi fish. This is one of two paintings I have done for both of the boys rooms. It gives me joy to paint something my son loves and also remind him of the great days we had together. I have had such an itch to paint lately. What a gift it has been to dip my brushes back into paint.

My hats off to you

My son loves to play with his cowboy hat that a dear friend gave to him on his birthday. What is it that attracts little boys to cowboy hats, boots, buckles, etc.?

Fall Fest

A couple of weeks ago I talked about the pumpkin paintings for fall that I had worked on. Here is a trio that I truly enjoyed working on. October is literally just around the corner, bringing with it Holidays, delicious food and spiced smells, friends, family, and quiet cozy moments with just you, a blanket, and your pick: coffee or tea.

1,2,3...Blast Off!

My son is reaching the age where he is no longer a baby and is turning into a little boy. Where has the time gone? In honor of his growing up I decided it was time to create a new painting for him that was a little more mature than the polka dot whale I painted for him before he was born. For a while now I've had this picture in my head and it felt so good to finally put it down in paint. I'm thinking about creating another picture with the solar system... I've had the verse "The Heaven's declare the glory of God" on my mind.

Out of Sniffles

Finally my time of sniffles and sinus have past!  Hip, hip, hurray!  There has been lots of work going on around here getting ready for fall.  I've got some fall paintings to show you that I had a lot of fun working on.  In the mean time I felt like I have been neglecting paintings for boys and I couldn't resist a dinosaur.

a bouquet for you

Fresh flowers instantly cheer my entire house up! I don't need a grand bouquet, something sweet and simple will do. Small vases, with just a few buds, spread throughout my home add such a splash of color. This must have been on my mind while I was working on this small bouquet for you.

Out to Flutter

The rain started early in the morning and tapered off into sunshine. The butterflies have been coming and going. My childhood feelings of excitement with each sighting lingers. Don't you remember how special it was to have a butterfly land on you?

Rainy Days

The past few days have been relieved with rain! Oh the joy! We have had a drizzle, sprinkle, pour, and those deliciously big fat drops. The gift of rain has been on my mind and in my art.
